Former Ambassador to Laos, Wendy Chamberlin, was quoted in July 3, 1998 St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper: "There's a lot of ugliness going on in Laos... It's a dangerous situation (in isolated areas). There's killing all around."
She also said that fighting is going on between Lao soldiers and Hmong in the Phou Bia mountain area and that she did not know the extent of killings or imprisonment, and is frustrated that the Lao government is not as responsive as it could be to her inquiries."
Documentary Evidence
Documentary evidence from 1997 to 2003 continues to be gathered from inside Laos. The pictures themselves tell that Laos today is a country under oppression.
The Vietnam War may have ended for many …
but the slaughter of ethnic Laotians continues !
