Help support Mon's repatriation.
According to the latest advice from Laos, Mon requires 47,405 Thai Baht (AUD$1750) to pay the fine accompanying her sentence, as ordered by the Lao PDR Authorities. Previously 27,000 Thai Baht (AUD$1,000) was collected and transferred to Mon. This amount reduced the total fine of 100,000 Thai Baht. We have also received a further 6800 Thai Baht (AUD$250) and our contact in Bangkok is presently making arrangements to forward these funds to the Thai Embassy in Laos. If anyone wishes to contribute to this fine please contact us.
Mon is due to be released in December 2009 but only if the remaining 47, 405 Thai Baht (AUD$1750) has been paid in full. Verification of this can be provided.

Fate of Briton could be Laos jail 'black hole'
A Briton who is believed to have fathered a woman's baby in a Laos prison to save her from a death sentence has gone missing from the jail, prompting fears for his safety. John Watson was removed from Phonthong prison last week, according to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, which admits it has lost track of the whereabouts of the 47-year-old from Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Welfare groups say he has been secretly taken to a "punishment prison" in the capital, Vientiane, and his life is in danger.

Soe Paing Tinsoe
Dear Friends,I received a lovely letter from Soe Paing Tinsoe and he wrote beautifully.
I would like to encourage others to write to him and offer their support. Life is very
difficult for the Myanmar People. They are not wealthy by any means. They have very
little support and they often don't have relatives or friends visiting because they
can never afford to make the long journey to Thailand.
