FOREIGN PRISONER SUPPORT SERVICE
It's important to engage the right professional support from the moment your loved one is detained; and from people who understand the political environment and sensitivities of their internment.

Foreign Prisoner Support Service was established in 1995 as a volunteer prison advocacy service to families whose loved ones are interned in foreign countries.

We have a strong, positive working relationship with International Diplomatic Departments and a broad based network of support from Government, Non-Government, Legal and Judiciary authorities, Psychologists and Counselors, Security advisors, Media, Humanitarian agencies and like-minded professionals.

The FPSS is your first stop in finding out how you can best assist your loved ones in crisis. The FPSS have successfully campaigned for hundreds of cases over the years, as well as providing ongoing advocacy and 24 hour assistance to the loves ones of those incarcerated.

" The perception is that they are worthless. When a person feels like that, how can they ever hope to turn their life around, if no-one cares to set their foot on a different path?"

AIMS OF THE F.P.S.S
Foreign Prisoner Support Service's main aims are to promote understanding and education of, and respect for, human rights for all persons without discrimination through adherence to the UN Declaration of Human Rights, and other human rights instruments, internationally and within Australia.

We believe that it is important to support the education and awareness of the reconciliation process and advocacy on the rights of indigenous people, internationally and within Australia. To promote practical educational information for "ordinary people" (including community groups) on how to access existing both legal and diplomatic support and advocacy remedies for persons detained in prisons and detention centres, internationally and within Australia;
