Let me start by telling you all how incredible it has been and what all of
you have done these last years for Nick and how many people there are with
genuine interest in Nick. Without your interest, support and warmth Nick
would have not made it through the last 3.5 years. There is still a lot of
work to do, and I will go on fighting for Nick, and all others in similar
circumstances.
We are desperately appealing for donations following Nicks recent guilty
verdict in the Japan High Court on the 27th October 2005.
Nick was sentenced to 11 years and handed down a 3000,000 yen fine, he was
also given a reduction of 3 years for time already served leaving him with
an 8 years sentence.. This fine has to be paid within 4 weeks of the
guilty verdict, now leaving us 3 weeks, or Nick will be forced to serve
another 150 days in hard labor being paid off at 20.000 yen per day. Only
after the fine is paid can Nick start with his sentence.
The Justice for Nick Baker support fund has approximately 8,500 pounds
already but urgently needs to raise another 6,500 pounds to spare Nick
from this archaic practice of punishing the families of these prisoners by
imposing a fine that the family are held responsible to pay.
We have fought tirelessly over the last 3 and a half years to get Nick a
fair trial then a fair appeal process and to see justice prevail, it
didn't. Japan's justice system failed miserably on this day and have
wrongly convicted an innocent man.
Nick is suffering terribly in prison for a crime he did not commit. He
has not seen his young son George for over 3 years and has lost nearly
everything he held dear to his heart since his wrongful arrest.
We are appealing to all nations and to the hearts of all people every
where to donate any amount, we were thinking if 6500 people could donate
£1.00(or the equivalent in your own currency) we can free Nick Baker from
this senseless punishment.
Please if you can find it in your hearts to donate this small amount to
help an innocent man we will be eternally grateful.
All donations can be made at the Justice for Nick Baker web site via
Paypal. You can be 100% sure all donations will be fully used for the
fine. On the site we will give regular updates on how the fundraising is
going. You can find this at the following web address or alternatively you
can post your cheques to;

generosity.
God bless each and every one of you.
Keep writing to Nick. As soon as we know his new address, I will put it on
