Karim Fahimi was reportedly sentenced to death for drinking alcohol by a court in the city of Sardasht, western Iran. This is at least the third time he has been convicted of this offence. The first two convictions carry the penalty of 100 lashes, but a third conviction carries the death penalty.

urge the Iranian authorities to commute the death sentence imposed on Karim Fahimi ask for details of his trial and any appeals, and of his legal representation acknowledge that governments have a responsibility to bring to justice those suspected of criminal offences, but stating your unconditional opposition to the death penalty
